BECOME A COACH

Coaching Opportunities
Parent volunteers interested in coaching are encouraged and should register as a volunteer during the player registration process. No experience is required—however knowledge of the sport is preferred. All are welcome and will be paired with experienced coaches accordingly. We will require completion of the Rutgers SAFETY Clinic, the required training through USA Football, and pass a background check. There will be clinic opportunities this Spring and Summer to learn the game of football: skills, drills, practice and game planning. 

ALL INTERESTED COACHES, please follow the STEPS BELOW...

First: Register with Sports Connect
Click Register in the Age Group you would like to Volunteer with (Ex. 13u)
- Register as yourself to Volunteer as Head Coach, Assistant Coach, or Team Manager

Second: Complete USA Football Coaching Certification
Register for Youth Tackle Football Certification Course - $15
- Organization: Montgomery Youth Tackle Football

Third: Must complete (or show proof of completion) Rutgers Safety Clinic Certification 
Rutgers Safety Clinic Certification - $40

Fourth: Complete Background Check
- Check back for a link at a later date

Summer Clinic Opportunities: Learn Cougar Football Fundamental Skills & Drills, as well as the Terminology used to teach them!
All interested Coaches are Invited to attend our Montgomery Youth Tackle Football Skills & Drills Sessions to Watch, Listen, and Learn.  With Field Level Access, and Question and Answer Sessions (pre and post workout), it’s a great opportunity to Develop your Football IQ!

- Sessions will be held on the following Sunday’s
- June 23rd, July 7th, July 21st, July 28th
- Location: Montgomery High School Front Athletic Field (Cougar Stadium’s Turf is being replaced)
- Ages 7-10 from 5:00 - 6:00 pm
- Ages 11-14 (up to 8th grade) from 6:15-7:30 pm
- No Registration necessary for Coaches
    -Registration for Athlete participation is OPEN thru Montgomery Recreation.
